Ministry of Home Affairs has granted cinemas and multiplexes to reopen from October 15. The movie lovers again rejoice to watch their favorite stars on the big screen from Thursday. Though there are guidelines that cinema halls and multiplexes must follow like they are allowed to reopen the house with half of their strength, there should be a minimum of six feet distance from two individuals, the halls should be outside of the containment zone, etc.
Movie halls across the country have been shut down since March due to the pandemic; and after 7 months, the Home Affairs ministry granted cinemas halls to reopen with certain rules and precautions. And as it’s been a long gap, several movies are lined up to get released on the big screen. Let’s check out the list:
This movie is set to release in the theatre to pay tribute to the late actor. Though it has already been released on a digital platform, there is a huge demand to get it released on the big screens. This is the last movie of SSR. It was set to release earlier, but due to the pandemic, the makers had to release on a digital platform. And now as cinemas are reopening, the makers have decided to release this again.
Kabir Khan’s film ‘83’ is supposed to release once the cinemas reopen. It was set to release on 10 April 2020, but its release had been extended due to the pandemic. In this film, Ranveer Kapoor who is portraying the role of Kapil Dev will be seen with Deepika Padukone, Tahir Raj, Saqib Saleem. The film’s shoots have already been completed.

Rohit Shetty’s action film ‘Sooryavanshi’ is all set to release in theatre. It is written by Yunus Sajawal and produced by Hiroo Yash Johar. Featuring Akshay Kumar in the opposite of Katrina kaif, this film is the fourth installment of Shetty’s police universe. Along with Akshay, Gulshan Grover, Abhimanyu Singh, and Jackie Shroff shall also be starring in this film.
Varun Dhawan’s Coolie No.1 is another comedy film that is lined up to release once the cinemas reopen. Its production has been completed, but the release date has not been announced yet. The film is directed by David Dhawan who is Varun’s father. This is the remake of the same name’s movie of the ’90s in which Govinda and Karisma Kapoor were starring.
Along with these, Kedarnath, Thappad, and several Hollywood films – Tenet, Death on the Nile, Dune, Ford Vs Ferrari, Parasite, Knives Out, Lion King is also lined up to release in Indian cinemas from October 15.
