After the release of Ayushamnn Khurana’s ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’, here comes up another homosexual love story. This one is a very sensitive film, unlike Ayushmann’s romantic comedy. ‘Sheer Qorma’ is a film based on issues of lesbian relationships. This film also brings up an LGBTQ character.
Sitara (Swara’s character) is a Pakistani- Canadian character who for the first time comes to India with her love partner Saira (Divya Dutta’s character). The film also features Priya Malik as a significant character and writer of the film. In the first scene of the trailer, Sitara indicates Saira as ‘they’ instead of ‘she’ to which Saira then clarifies by saying that ‘I am a non-binary person’. As the trailer moves on, it becomes evident that the film shows the struggle of lesbians to convince one’s mother for the acceptance of their relationship. The legendary Shabana Azmi plays the role of mother in the film.
The director Faraz Azmi Ansari says that the star cast choice for the characters of the film was an easy choice, in fact, he already had star cast in his mind even from the nascent stage of the film.

By the trailer, it can be interpreted that the film will not be released in the theatres as it says ‘Coming soon to film festival near you’.
