Actress Urmila Matondkar has joined Shiv Sena today. Urmila took the membership of the party in the presence of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. Prior to this, Urmila was in the Congress party and had contested the Lok Sabha elections from Mumbai North seat. He recently left the Congress party. After this she joined Shiv Sena.
The Shiv Sena-led coalition government in Maharashtra was set to make Urmila Matondkar a member of the Legislative Council. The government sent his name to Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari. The Maha Vikas Aghadi government of Maharashtra had sent a list of 12 names to the Governor, who are to be sent to the Legislative Council under the Governor’s quota.
