Iconic Singer Lata Mangeskar Turns 91, PM Modi and Several Others Prays for Her Long and Healthy Life

The legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar turns 91 today. The Indian Nightingale started her career at age 13, and since then she has been given her voice over 25,000 songs during her 78 years long professional career. Her patriotic songs ‘Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon’ got late Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru emotional. That song was dedicated to the Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the1962 war. Although Lata spent a major part of her life in Mumbai, she was born in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, and spent 16 years of her life in the city.

PM Modi and several others wished her and pray for her long and healthy life. Speaking on her 91st birthday, PM Modi said that he considered himself fortunate to have always received her affection and blessing. He took Twitter to write, “Spoke to respected Lata Didi and conveyed birthday greetings to her. Praying for her long and healthy life, Lata Didi is a household name across the nation. I consider myself fortunate to have always received her affection and blessings.”

Actress Kangana Ranaut, Sudarsan Pattnaik, and several others also tweeted to wish the iconic singer.
