Sonu Sood has become more a savior than only an actor. He seems like helping or satisfying anyone whom he was unable to win, he has always been polite with his colleagues, partners, and co-workers. This time, the actor seemed to clear up the Manikarnika controversy. Sonu Sood was the part of this film when Krish was its director. Later he left the film when Kangana and Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi became its director.
Asking about why he left Manikarnika, the actor replied, “Kangana is a friend of mine for many years, and I don’t want to hurt her sentiments. But to talk about it, I will say that when we had shot for major portions of Manikarnika, I asked my director that we need to start shooting again and he said that he received an email saying that he is not going to be a part of this project anymore.”
The actor reveals that “When I spoke to Kangana how the situation stands, she said, she wants to direct this film and she wants me to support her. I said okay but we really need to get him back on the set, he really worked hard on this film, but Kangana denied. I further asked her to send the rushes of the film, and I saw 80% of my scenes were chopped off and the scenes I was narrated were not there. I asked to Kangana about this, but she said I want to shoot this film in a certain way. I said to her that I would like to walk out of this film and I won’t even speak about it. I have given months for this project, and I felt a lot of grief but I didn’t say anything.”
Asking on even if you have problems with a female director the actor said, “I didn’t say so, I have worked with female director Farah Khan in “Happy New Year”. I only said that I couldn’t work with two directors on one set. I have done more than 80 and 90 movies and I always worked under one director, so this is my stand, and I would like to stick with it.”
