Rhea Chakraborty was in judicial custody for 14 days after three days of interrogation by NCB. Her judicial custody will end today on 22 September. Earlier, NCB arrested Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik, and several others for possible drug procurement, transportation, and consumption in relation to SSR’s death. They filed the bail pleas then but got rejections by Mumbai Special court.
Rhea Chakraborty was arrested on September 8 based on the statements of other accused. Among the accused, Rhea’s brother Showik, SSR’s former Manager Samuel Miranda and house staff Dipesh Sawant accepted their roles and co-accomplice Rhea’s role in the drug racket. If the court finds Rhea guilty, she will face jail for up to 10 years.
CBI, ED, and NCB are probing the case from different perspectives. CBI sought help from AIIMs doctors to re-examine the SSR autopsy report. It is yet not revealed. ED is probing the possible money laundering from SSR’s account, but nothing yet exposed by ED.
