Cabinet Secretary Confirms: No Plan For Extending the Lockdown!

It has been reported that some digital media organization has claimed that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the extension of the lockdown by a week. It was mentioned that to combat COVID-19 Narendra Modi has first announced the 21-days nationwide lockdown on March 24, 2020, and now he is extending the duration of the lockdown by a week. This is fake news with no proven evidences. It was titled as “Modi government could extend coronavirus lockdown by a week a migrant exodus triggers alarms.” The report also referred to a few officials stating that they were familiar with the situation and one of which had an opinion for extending lockdown by 2 months. Many such fake news and rumors are revolving these days regarding the lockdown and coronavirus.

PBNS (Prasar Bharati News Services) has tweeted about being alert of such fake news. The tweet reads: “Fake News Alert. PBNS got in touch with the Cabinet Secretary on this news article. The Cabinet Secretary expressed surprise and said that there is no such plan of extending the lockdown.”
