WHO has taken a new initiative together in partnership with Rakuten Viber aiming to provide accurate information about the COVID-19 to the people in multiple languages. This partnership with Rakuten Viber will help WHO to potentially reach over 1 billion people and help them get the reliable information on their handheld devices in their local languages.
In the words of Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, “WHO aims to reach as many people as possible with reliable health information through innovative digital technology.” He additionally mentioned that “The information is powerful and can help save millions of lives during this pandemic.” Another goal WHO seeks through this initiative is to fight misinformation.
The users will need to subscribe to the WHO Viber chatbot; once subscribed the users will get notifications regarding the latest news and information directly from WHO. Along with this, users may also test their knowledge about the Coronavirus by taking an interactive quiz on the app, which may be helpful as effective myth busters.
Viber has developed a sticker pack dedicated to WHO’s World Health Day theme which gives recognition to every health care worker around the world. Check out the chatbot which is freely available through the link below:
