
Sri Lankan Born experienced Australian cricketer Dav Whatmore has been appointed head Coach of Nepal National Cricket Team. Dav is a very experienced coach, he has made Sri Lanka team ODI world champion during his tenure in 1996. Not only this, he was also the coach of the Indian Under-19 team in the year 2008. That year, the Indian Under-19 team won the World Cup under the captaincy of Virat Kohli.

Earlier, Dav Whatmore was the coach of India’s first-class team, Baroda. But the Board of Cricket in India (BCCI) told Baroda cricket to avoid hiring senior staff (over 60 year) in their cricket association due to Covid-19 restrictions. After this, the board of Baroda decided not to take the services of Whatmore.
Nepal Cricket Association has released a statement announcing that former Australian cricketer Dave Whitmore has been appointed as the head coach of the Nepal national team. He has previously been the coach of many teams such as Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe cricket team. In addition, Dave has also held the position of coach of County team Lancashire. Lancashire’s team won the National League and NatWest Trophy twice under his coach.
