GHMC election result is out, and in this election, BJP performed brilliantly by winning 48 seats out of 149. AIMIM contested on 51 seats and won 44, KCR’s party TRS won 56 seats, whereas Congress could manage only 2 Seats out of 146 seats. TDP (Telugu Desam Party) won no seat. This defeat is humiliating for congress and TDP because both the parties put forward 100+ candidates in the GHMC election, but could manage 2 seats that went to the congress account.
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has fielded candidates on 106 seats and failed to open an account for the party by winning a single candidate. On the other hand, the Bharatiya Janata Party, which fielded 149 candidates in the Municipal Corporation and make use of central leadership for campaigning won 48 seats. AIMIM slipped to the third position in the election.
Asaduddin Owaisi’s party AIMIM contested 51 seats and won 44 seats. While the ruling TRS won 56 seats in Telangana state. KCR’s party fielded candidates for all 150 seats.
Taking a glance at the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections held in 2016, then TRS won 99 out of 150 seats, while Asaduddin Owaisi’s party AIMIM won 44. However, at that time also, the Congress had won only two seats. In this way, the Corporation of Greater Hyderabad and Old Hyderabad was seized by the party of KCR and Owaisi.
