The counting of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) election result began today. As per the initial trend, BJP is leading on 88 seats. BJP is fighting in the fort of Asaduddin Owaisi, so it has to see whether Owaisi will be able to save his fort or the BJP will make a dent in it. 1,122 candidates are in the fray for 150 seats of GHMC. BJP is fighting for 149 seats. The BJP had put its top leaders in the campaign for this election, so this time, the election result could be very interesting.

In the initial trend of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation election, BJP has got the majority. BJP is ahead in 84 seats. Aside from this, TRS is ahead on 34 seats and AIMIM in 17 seats. At the same time, Congress is ahead in only one seat.

The voting percentage is still less than 50% even though BJP dumped its top leaders including Amit Shah for the campaign. In 2009, the voting percentage was 42.04 and in 2016, percent of the people who voted in the Municipal Corporation elections was 45.29. However, this time more voting percentage is reported than the last 2 elections.
