The first Arrest of Love Jihad Reported in UP, Accused Arrested Based on Victims’ Father Complaint
The first case of arrest under the law issued against love Jihad has been reported in UP. The FIR has been registered on the complaint of the Victim’s father, in Deoria, a police station in Bareilly. As per the report, the accused has been arrested by police. The Police said that Uwash Ahmed son of the village Rafiq Ahmad had met with the victim’s daughter while studying. Uwash Ahmed was accused of forcibly converting religion by luring a girl from another community.
The victim’s father alleged that Uwash Ahmed seduced and manipulated his daughter to convert her religion and when he protested, Uwesh abused him and threaten to kill him and his family. Since the FIR has been registered, the accused was absconding from the house to avoid police arrest. But as of now, it is reported that the police arrested the accused from the Deorania railway gate on the information of an informer.
According to the police, the case has been registered against the accused in Uttar Pradesh under Sanctification Prohibition Act and sections 504, 506. The accused is under police custody. He will be produced in court soon.
