The nascent foldable phones are going to be the next big thing in the smartphone industry. We already have foldable products from other companies like Samsung, LG, Motorola, and Huawei leading the race. Apple has kept a distance from this yet but not for very long.
It has been recently reported that the company has filed a patent for the design that would use a flexible display. The news got ignited after the US Patent and Trademark Office published a patent filed by Apple under the title “Electronic devices with flexible displays and hinges”. This has made the market guess about the foldable launch by Apple. Well, patents are not always real basis for confirmation of company plans. But it provides a strong hint that iPhone makers are up for foldable phones. Apple analysts are also suggesting this to be for the foldable that would come out in the market around next year (2021).
Undoubtedly, this foldable phone won’t be cheap, rather expect them to be nearly unaffordable. Foldable phones right now are quite expensive, with the Galaxy Fold 2 retailing at Rs 1,64,990 last year. And so, you can guess it yourself, foldable iPhones are going to be even more expensive than this!
