Thousands of people gathered in Madhya Pradesh’s capital Bhopal on Thursday against French President Emmanuel Macron. This demonstration, organized at Bhopal’s Iqbal Maidan, was organized by a Congress MLA Arif Masood. People from the Muslim community shouted slogans against France during this period. MLA Arif Masood demanded from the central government to ask the ambassador of France to register a protest against the ‘anti-Muslim‘ stance of the regime here.
The Rules of Lockdown Ignored
During the protest, MLA Masood has accused Macron of supporting the aggressive cartoons of Prophet Mohammad and deliberately hurting the sentiments of Muslims. During this time, the guidelines issued to prevent the spread of the coronavirus were severely violated. Meanwhile, the Bhopal Police have taken strict action and registered a case against the people who reached the protest.

India stands with France
On October 16, a teacher was killed in France for showing a cartoon of Prophet Mohammad. After this, the President of France strongly supported freedom of expression. On Thursday, three people were killed in a knife attack by a Muslim attacker in France. Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack in France, including the attack on a church in France, and said that India stands with France in the fight against terrorism.
I strongly condemn the recent terrorist attacks in France, including today's heinous attack in Nice inside a church. Our deepest and heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and the people of France. India stands with France in the fight against terrorism.
