With the increasing risk of bird flu, North Delhi Municipal Corporation has issued an order to ban all meat shops thereby purchasing and selling meat till further order. The corporation has also ordered not to serve dishes made by chicken meat or egg in any hotel and restaurant. In case, eggs and poultry meat-based dishes are served in restaurants and hotels, the owners will also be subjected to stern action. However, the corporation ordered to keep the live chicken in the shop.
There is a complete restriction of purchasing, processing, packaging, and sale to the next order at all meat shops, meat processing units, and any other place with immediate effect.
The corporation has also ordered that everyone associated with this business should follow this order strictly. Otherwise, action will be taken against the violators by the Regional Deputy Director (Veterinary Services Department) and their business license will be revoked with immediate effect without notice. Along with this, the corporation has issued a helpline number 011-23890318 to inform about the incident of unusual mortality of birds.
