The Bombay high court has rejected Arnab Goswami’s plea for interim bail in an alleged abetment to suicide case. Goswami and two others Feroze Sheikh and Neetish Sarda were arrested by Alibaug police on November 4 in relation to the suicide of architect-interior designer Anvay Naik and his mother in 2018 over alleged non-payment of dues. He was in judicial custody since 4 November and had applied for interim bail.
A bench comprising justices SS Shinde and MS Karnik had refused to give the interim bail to Arnab on Monday after a long discussion. Rejecting Arnab’s plea, the Bombay high court said that he can apply to the Sessions Court of Alibaug for the bail under Section 439 of the CRPC.
