Hundreds of farmers have been protesting on the outskirts of Delhi since late on 26 November and are demanding the government to repeal the new farm farm laws.
However, the government has held six rounds of talks with farmer organizations, including a meeting called by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah and offering written assurances.
Farmers are opposing the recently created Farmers Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020; Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Agricultural Services Act, 2020; And Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020 (ANI)
