
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has made many big announcements on the occasion of Dhanteras to support the descending economy amid the Coronavirus pandemic. On this day, the Finance Minister has announced the Self-Reliant India Employment Scheme to strengthen employees who have lost their jobs. This scheme will come into effect from October 1. Before this, the PM Employment Incentive Scheme was also announced. The objective of the Self-Reliant India Employment Scheme is to provide employment in the organized sectors.

Who Will Get the Benefit from the New Scheme?
This benefit will be available to those who were not previously registered with the Provident Fund (EPFO) and their salary is less than 15 thousand. Those who have been joined jobs between March 1 and September 30 and got employment on or after October 1 will get this benefit.
