Joe Biden and Kamala Harris Will Be Sworn in Today, Washington DC Turned In to a Fort For the first Time

Joe Biden will be sworn in today as the 46th president of America. After the oath, the term of the 46th president of the United States of America begins. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will be sworn in at around 10:30 pm on Wednesday night. Current President Donald Trump has already confirmed that he would not attend the oath-taking ceremony. This is in fact going to happen in America after 152 years. Not only this, Joe Biden’s swearing-in ceremony is going to be different in many ways for many reasons.

Kamala Harris Will Take an Oath for America’s first female Vice President

Along with Biden Indian-origin, Kamala Harris will be sworn in as the first vice president of America today. In addition, she will also be the first black vice-president. While national anthem pop star Lady Gaga will sing at the ceremony, Jennifer Lopez will perform on different songs during this period.

Heavy Security in Washington for the first time

The capital of America Washington DC has been turned into a fort after two weeks of violent violence in the Capitol Building. Around 25,000 National Guards have been deployed throughout the city, which is five times the number of US troops present in Iraq and Afghanistan. The emergency will remain in force in Washington during the swearing-in ceremony. National Guard personnel are equipped with automatic weapons that have the amazing ability to not take any threat. During this time all checkpoints for common citizens have been closed.

Capitol Hill Is Surrounded by 7 Feet-High Fencing, Nearby Roads’ Been Closed

For the reason of the violence in America as well as the coronavirus, people will not be allowed to watch ceremonies from the national mall. In 2009, 18 people watched Barack Obama’s presidential oath-taking ceremony live from there. Along with this, Capitol Hill is surrounded by 7 feet high fencing. Nearby roads have been closed. Only guests will be present at the swearing-in ceremony.

Biden will take the oath in 35 words

According to the USA constitution, Biden will take the oath of the President in 35 words. He will become 46 presidents of America with the oath ‘I vow with full sincerity that I will play the responsibility of the President of America with all sincerity. I will protect and defend the Constitution of America.’
