Actor Johnny Depp announced on Friday that he was resigning from the Fantastic Beast franchise, as he called him a “wife-eater” in Britain after losing a defamation suit against a tabloid. Taking to Instagram, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor revealed that Warner Bros. Film Studios of AT&T Inc. asked him to leave his role as the villain Gellert Grindelwald. He wrote, “I have been asked to resign by Warner Bros. from my role as Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts and I have respected and agreed to that request.”
