
In order to restrain the transition of Covid-19 and its new variant, the Delhi government has imposed a nighttime curfew on December 31 and January 1 from 11 pm to 6 pm so as people do not gather for the New Year celebrations.

According to the order issued by Delhi Chief Secretary Vijay Dev, the night curfew will be in force from 11 pm to 6 pm on December 31 and from 11 pm to 6 pm on January 1. According to the order issued by the Delhi government, no more than five people will be allowed to congregate in public places during the night curfew.
The Chief Secretary said that there will be no restriction on interstate movement of people and goods during the night curfew in Delhi.

Night Curfew in Maharashtra till 5 January
On Monday, the Maharashtra government also imposed a night curfew till 5 January. Maharashtra’s government appealed to people not to go out of their homes to celebrate the New Year amid the Covid-19 epidemic. The government confirms that the night curfew will continue till January 5 in the major cities of the state.
