Uttarakhand Glacier Bursts: Many Leaders of the Country and Abroad Expresses Grief over the Loss

Many leaders of the country and abroad including President Ramnath Kovind said expressed grief over the loss. President Ramnath Kovind said ‘I am very concerned about the news of the huge loss in that area due to the breaking of the glacier near Joshimath in Uttarakhand. I pray for the safety and health of the people. I am sure that relief and rescue operations are being conducted on the spot with complete preparation.’

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said, “We are collecting information about the breaking of the glacier in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli.” Our officials are in touch with the officials there. Since this is the case of the river Ganges, we need to worry.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, “I have spoken to Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat Ji, Director Generals of ITBP and NDRF regarding the information of natural disaster in Uttarakhand.

Congress President Sonia Gandhi said I am distressed to hear the news of the huge flood and devastation caused by the breaking of the glacier in Uttarakhand. I pray for everyone’s well-being. All the Congress workers and volunteers help the people trapped there and the officials involved in relief work.

Rahul Gandhi said; the flood tragedy due to the glacier burst is very sad. My condolences to the people of Uttarakhand! The state government should provide immediate assistance to all the victims. Congress companions should also help in relief work.

The US State Department said in a tweet, “We offer condolences to those affected by glacier eruptions and landslides in India.” We are involved in the grief of the families and friends of the dead and wish the injured well soon.
