President Ramnath Kovind said ‘I am very concerned about the news of the huge loss in that area due to the breaking of the glacier near Joshimath in Uttarakhand. I pray for the safety and health of the people. I am sure that relief and rescue operations are being conducted on the spot with complete preparation.’
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said, “We are collecting information about the breaking of the glacier in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli.” Our officials are in touch with the officials there. Since this is the case of the river Ganges, we need to worry.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, “I have spoken to Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat Ji, Director Generals of ITBP and NDRF regarding the information of natural disaster in Uttarakhand.
