What is the Situation Regarding Three Agricultural Laws?

Implementation of three agricultural laws – ‘Farmer Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Simplification) Bill, 2020′, ‘Agriculture (Empowerment and Protection) Price Assurance and Agricultural Services Agreement Bill, 2020′ and ‘Essential Commodities Amendment Bill, 2020’. But the Supreme Court has stayed till the next order. To discuss these, the court has formed a committee, which had its first meeting some time ago. The committee is also making its own website, where public opinion and suggestions will be sought on these laws.

At the same time, last month, there was an interaction between the government and farmer representatives for the 11th and last phase, in which both sides were adamant on their stand. The farmers want to bring back the laws, while the government agrees to discuss changes in them. The government has also offered to keep these laws on hold for 18 months and continue to negotiate, which has been turned down by the farmer leaders.
