World Toilet Day 2020: Today, the world is celebrating World Toilet Day along with international men’s day. According to the announcement of the United Nations, World Toilet Day is observed every year on 19 November. This day has been started in 2001 by the World Toilet Organization and was officially declared as World Toilet Day in 2013 by the United Nations General Assembly. The theme of this day for 2020 is ‘Sustainable sanitation and climate change‘.

Why World Toilet Day is celebrated?

World toilet day is celebrated with the aim of providing toilet facilities to all people in the world by 2030. It is also part of the six Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. The United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals also set the goal of providing clean drinking water and sanitation to all.

By open defecation, not only groundwater is polluted but agricultural products also get polluted. This causes deadly diseases like diarrhea, cholera, typhoid. Not only this; but the environment is also contaminated.
